Once a month, Chris and Mickey grab a table somewhere around Atlanta and fill it with exactly six people: the two of us and four folks we've asked along.
We put the group together on purpose. Sometimes that's four people from completely different corners of business, sometimes it's four people doing almost the same thing. Either one can make for a great table. What we're really looking for is people who like to talk.
How it works
- Six people, one table. The two of us and four guests. That's the whole format, and the number is the point.
- A good restaurant somewhere around Atlanta. It changes every month.
- About an hour and a half. Long enough to get past the small talk.
- Lunch is on us. We split the tab. You just show up.
What we actually talk about
There's no agenda and nothing programmed. We open the table up and see where it goes. The stuff that tends to come up:
- What's going on in your business right now
- Whatever you're working through at the moment
- What you're thinking about for your company
- What you make of the state of marketing
That's it. Good food, five other people worth talking to, and ninety minutes to actually get into something.
How you end up at the table
Most of our invites come out of the bigger events. We meet a lot of people there, and when we want to get to know somebody better than a room of thirty lets us, this is where we ask them.
So a seat here usually isn't the first time we've met. It's the follow up.
